Go Mom!

I have one cool mom! I haven’t always thought that ( :) ) but I have KNOWN that for a long time now. Nadia and I just got back from visiting my mom in Colorado Springs and celebrating her graduation from Bible School. She is now a licensed minister! Sweet!!

I was thinking about what it took for her to get to this momenteous occasion. It took alot… alot of guts, alot of faith, alot of dependence on God, alot of strength, alot of discipline, alot of just about everything. Here is a short list:

- at 60 years old, she up and decides to leave her home, home state, family, friends, home church, everything to pack up her stuff to move to Colorado and attend a Bible school where she knew not one soul. no one. She enrolled in school about 40+ years after her last school experience. She excelled in school and was pushed out of her comfort zone to go to a foreign country, preach by herself, teach her classmates and even perform a wedding ceremony. :)

who does that?!

And her life has literally changed forever. For the good. For everyone’s good! Mom has made some of the closest and dearest friends she will have for life. Friends I will have too! Friends my kids will have  all around the world.

Mom has persevered through two years of classes and tests, open air preaching, teaching, traveling to a foreign nation, and so much more! I am SO proud of her. She used to say that school, travel and tests, preaching and teaching, making new friends were not her “strong points.” I beg to differ!

Mom is living in a house with two other AWESOME ladies. Nadia and I were loved on, prayed over, encouraged and just has such a wonderful time with Gaby and Lisa! The three of them are having such fun together and growing in leaps and bounds in their friendship and spiritual lives. I feel like my kids just inherited two more surrogate grandma’s, and I inherited two more spiritual “moms”.

nadia kinda sorta stole Gaby and Lisa’s hearts. :)

Now that mom has finished the main two years of Bible School and has her diploma and license, she is embarking on a third year of ministry training with a focus on business and administration. I can’t wait to see what God has for her in the near future and see her thrive!

We love you mom,  and are SO proud of you! Thank you for leading with such a phenomenal example of radical faith and trust in God, a willingness to leave your comfort zone and pursue God wholeheartedly and for loving us and others so passionately!
